Words to Die By ~ Chapter Sixteen

After Edward left the church, he couldn’t help but smile. He and Bella were going to get married on Saturday in the church. It did leave a bad taste in his mouth the Bishop was the one marrying them, but it was worth it. Bishop Bertazonni’s time on this earth was coming to an end, he just didn’t know it yet. There was no way in the world, Edward was going to allow this asshole to continue his sexual depravity on young women.

“Ben, take me by the mansion. I want to check on the progress,” Edward informed him as he was getting into the back seat.

“Certainly, Boss,” Ben replied.

As they headed down the streets, Edward was thinking not only about the wedding but also the renovation of the mansion. They would be leaving soon after the wedding to go back to the states, so he could take care of Aro at last. Even though he felt the contractor would do a good job, he would feel better if he had a family member were here to see and control the project. But who?

Arriving Edward found several vehicles on the property. Ben had already checked the surveillance cameras and evaluated the danger level. They had already run an extensive background check on each of the workers and contractors, with each coming out clean. In spite of that, Ben, Seth, and the security team that would be arriving tonight would be keeping a close eye out on anyone who came close to the family, especially Edward.

Ben opened the back door which was the sign for Edward that it was all safe. He first went into the house and saw that the construction crew had begun working on rewiring the house. He had been told that they would try not to open up the plaster walls unless there was no way around it and by the look of things it looked like it was working. Edward and Bella wanted to retain the character of the house while bringing it to the date with the latest technology and convenience.

“Mr. Cullenello, how are you today?” Piero asked, coming into the room from the garden.

“I am well. How are things going here?” Edward asked, pointing around the room.

“Very good. We have only had to open up a few spots so far. I’ve found the best plaster artist to come in and repair,” Piero advised.

“Excellent. How is the garden?” Edward questions wanting it to be perfect for the wedding reception.

“Happy to say that the bulbs were just sleeping, and should be blooming soon, They are dormant during the long cold winter, awaking for the warm spring sun to bloom. After we removed five truckloads of vines, branches, and weeds, we discovered that the damage wasn’t severe. The fountain needed only minor repairs, the bulbs are in good shape, and we have begun to plant spring blooming flowers. We fertilized and are watering the grass and it is getting greener by the day,” Piero explained.

“Wonderful. Do you think it will be ready for Saturday evening?”

“Yes,” Piero replied with a smile.

“Piero I am very pleased and so will my wife be. However, I was wondering if you could work your magic in the master bedroom. Not wanting perfection of course, just clean and safe,” Edward said.

Piero’s mind was racing with what was all needed in the master bedroom. The electrician had started running wiring and thankfully hadn’t run into any problems causing them to tear out the plaster. The entire room needed a good scrub and he had a master craftsman wood maker coming in next week to look it over. He didn’t want anyone to get hurt using the bed in case the support system in the massive bed was dry rotted.

Edward saw the emotion cross over Piero’s face as he calculated how to answer him. He was asking a lot, though he was willing to throw whatever it cost to make it happen. He really wanted them to spend their first night as husband and wife in this house and in his grandparent’s bed. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a wad of money. “Would this help make it happen?”

Piero took the money and looked down at it. This money could help his family during these tough economic times. Jobs of this caliber were hard to come by. He would make this happen. “Thank you Mr. Cullenello and I promise that it will be done.”

“I knew you were the right man for the job. Now I will leave you to it. If you need anything, contact my men, they will get whatever you need,” Edward advised.

Edward walked out into the garden to take a look around and mentally picture the tent for the reception. The backyard was coming together nicely. The fountain was cleaned and worked beautifully. Taking out his phone he took pictures, he would use them when he went to rent the tent and chairs. He couldn’t wait to see Bella’s face, fuck he couldn’t wait for her to be his wife.

Once he had gone back into the house, he saw Ben, told him he was ready to leave, and that he had several stops to make. He had researched where each business he wanted to go was located and gave the addresses to Ben. Pulling out his phone, he checked in with his pilot and was glad to see that they were on schedule and would be arriving in Italy at eight-thirty.

“Ben, the flight is on time,” Edward called out as they drove down the streets to the first shop.

“Excellent, Boss. I have arranged the vehicles for picking them up,” Ben explained. He was relieved that more guards were coming. So far they had not run into any issues, but that could change at any moment. His and Seth’s workload had been non-stop since arriving in Italy. Yet he was happier that he would be seeing the woman who held his heart. They had kept their love affair secret, not knowing how Edward would respond. She was his mother and he was one of his private guards, responsible for keeping him alive. Even though it was the most important job in the family, Ben still felt that he wasn’t good enough for Angela. He couldn’t help but smile when he thought of her. She was the bravest person he had ever known. Saving Edward and keeping him hidden all those years.

He had been attracted to her for months, even though he never really talked to her alone. That all changed one winter night. Edward had asked him to go and stay with Angela during the storm. She hated snow because it reminded her of the day that Aro had attacked, though she would never leave Chicago and Edward. He arrived, stomping off his shoes on the rug outside of her door, he was going to ring the doorbell, but Angela opened the door with a 9mm in her hand.

“Oh, Ben, I didn’t know you were coming,” Angela murmured her cheeks turning a bright shade of pink.

“Edward wanted me to stay with you,” he explained.

“He is so thoughtful. Come in, it is bad out there,” she declared rubbing her hands up and down her arms to break the chill.

He came into the house that he had been in many times before and took off his coat. The first thing he wanted to do was to make sure that the house was secure. “I’m going to check things out.”

“Alright,” she replied as she placed her gun back in the drawer beside the couch. Edward had taught her how to handle and shoot. He then placed guns all over the house, so she would be within feet of one.

Once Ben was satisfied he went to check on Angela. Just as he stepped into the den, the lights went out. Angela screamed and Ben rushed to her side and when he did she threw herself into his arms.

“I hate this,” she cried out.

“Shh, it is okay. I am here,” he whispered into her hair as he held her tight. She felt so right in his arms. He felt her move not being able to see her because it was so dark in the house. Then he felt her smooth lips on his. After the initial shock, he angled his mouth and deepened the kiss. This was heaven. Finally breaking away when his lungs were about to explode from the lack of oxygen, he placed a feather-soft kiss down her jaw and neck. “Let me start a fire and we can talk.”

“I would love that,” Angela sighed.

They spent the rest of the night on the couch, cuddled together talking and kissing. She had told him about what had happened to her before she came to work for Edward’s parents and that she had never trusted any man except him. He promised her to let her set the pace for their relationship and they would wait to tell Edward. Neither knew how he would take the fact of them being together. They still had not sex and even though he had the biggest case of blue balls in history he knew he could never leave her. He loved her.

“Ben. Ben. BEN!” Edward called out.

“Sorry, Boss,” Ben said.

“Are you okay?” Edward asked, wondering where Ben’s thoughts had been. This was not like him.

“Yes, Boss. Just thinking about what needed to be done when the new guys get here,” Ben lied.

“After they are brought up to speed, I want you and Seth to take several days off,” Edward commanded. He didn’t want his two best guards fucking up because they were tired.

“Thank you,” Ben replied with a sigh.

After Edward had arranged the tent, flowers, tables, chairs for the reception and buying the items needed for Bella’s surprise, they headed back to the villa. When he walked in Bella, Rose, and Alice were sitting around the table talking, while Emmett and Jasper were in the den watching t.v.

He leaned down and placed a warm kiss behind Bella’s ear. “Hello, love.”

Bella moaned and leaned her head so he could have better access to her neck, allowing him to place his hot kisses.

“FUCK, EDWARD!” Rose yelled. “We don’t want to watch this shit.”

“I DO!” Emmett called out laughing. “I haven’t found any good porn over here.”

“EMMETT,” Rose screamed. “If you want to see my pussy again you need to shut up.”

Emmett couldn’t go without seeing his love’s pussy, so he decided to shut up.

Edward stood up, placing his hands on Bella’s shoulders and began to massage them. Whenever she was near, he had to be as close as possible. Would it always be like this? God, he hoped so.

“Did the Bishop agree?” Bella asked, loving the feeling of Edward’s large, strong hands on her shoulders kneading the knots.

“Yes. The ceremony is set for Saturday at four. Is that going to be enough time?” Edward questioned.

“Yes. We are not going to have a large guest list and we have a game plan for what we will need to make it special,” Bella explained.

“Use my card and get whatever you want,” Edward urged.

Bella tilted her head back and looked up at him. “Certainly, my love.”

Jasper and Emmett walked back in the room, smiling. They were happy to see their Boss and friend happy in love.

“Angela and the extra security will be landing eight-thirty. I figure they will be here around nine-thirty or so. Jasper, can you arrange rooms for the security?”

“Sure thing, Boss,” Jasper replied.

“Where is Angela going to stay?” Bella asked. “I think she needs to be here. We have another bedroom and I am sure she will want to be close.”

Edward bent down and kissed Bella’s nose. “I have told you just how much I love you today?”

“No,” she chuckled.

Edward looked up. “Everyone, leave NOW!”

Rose leaned over to Bella. “I think you are going to get lucky.”

“Damn right she is,” Alice laughed.

As they began to walk out the door, Emmett turned back. “Ride him hard and put him up wet, Bella.”

Edward flipped him off, leaned down and swept Bella up in his arms. “Yippee ki yay, cowgirl.

The rest of the afternoon was spent with Bella doing exactly what Emmett had advised.

Madam President ~ Chapter Four

Off to the Ball

Hours after the meeting between Bella and Edward, she was in her new bedroom. She had been in here many times before, while her father had been President, but this time it was her room, her presidency. It wasn’t just a bedroom, but a suite of rooms. During the Kennedy era, Jackie Kennedy had, as the other first ladies, a separate bedroom. Today the room is the living room. Also in the master suite is a small dressing room and bathroom adjoining the west side of the room, with closets in the rounded north wall of either side of the door to the west sitting hall. The closet doors are disguised with papered panels like the rest of the wall. Another disguised door on the east wall led to the living room. Those disguised doors weren’t the only ones throughout the White House and only the Special Agent In Charge, or SAIC knew every door and where it leads.

She decided to take a few moments of peace and quiet before she had to start getting ready for her many Inaugural Balls. It was going to be a long night as she bounced from one ball to the next. The first ball was one that she loved the best, The Neighborhood Inaugural Ball. Unlike the other balls, where the tickets prices were very pricey, this one was free or affordable tickets. This allowed the people who voted for her a chance to enjoy the parties. Jacob and Nauhel would be attending the same balls, along with her parents. The tradition of the President and the first lady first dance wouldn’t be happening tonight. First, she was President and second she wasn’t married or had a boyfriend. There were plans for her to dance with her father and other prominent guests. Her next ball she would attend would be The Commander-in-Chief’s Ball at the National Building Museum which was for active and reserve duty members of the military and the families of American service members currently deployed overseas; as well as  families of military personnel killed in action. Bella would be having a dance with one service member from each branch of the military. The rest of the evening would have her attending five other balls to spotlight each region of the country. Renee had made sure that the shoes she selected for the evening were comfortable.

Stripping off her dress, she walked into the bathroom and started the shower. Stepping inside, she closed the large glass door and allowed the hot water to beat down her shoulders. When she closed her eyes, she was bombarded with images of Edward. She was still shocked that he was her SAIC. God, she didn’t know how he could have gotten sexier, but he unquestionably had. He had gained weight in all the right places. She had been afraid to ask or look in his folder to see if he was married. Then the thought hit her hard causing her legs to crumble beneath her. Collapsing onto the tile floor, she allowed the tears to cascade down her face. She had mapped out her entire life, and up until that horrible day when he announced he was joining the military, all of her choices included him. After she passed the bar, they would get married in a grand wedding with her father walking her down the aisle to him. They would purchase a home. Then years later with him by her side, she would run for the office of the President. Instead, she blew up at him and told him to leave her alone. There was only one person to blame for the situation she currently found herself in, and that was her.

Standing up, she finished her shower and got out. Once she wrapped a towel around herself, she walked back into the bedroom and let out a small scream.

“Sorry, Madam President,” Sarah said.

But before Bella could respond, the door to the bedroom burst open and in ran Edward with his gun pulled. Scanning the room to see what the danger was and when his eyes landed on Bella, only wrapped in a towel, his heart stopped. Unable to speak he continued to stare at her.

“Agent Cullen, everything is fine. I was just surprised to see Sarah in my room,” Bella explained, trying her best not to look into his eyes. Then as if he willed her to look, she raised her eyes to his and saw the familiar look of lust that she had stored in her memory. Shaking her head slightly, she knew that couldn’t be. “Thank you, but as you can see I am safe. You may leave now.”

Edward just nodded his head, holstered his gun and walked out. After he closed the door, he notified the rest of the team that it was all clear. He needed a moment to clear his thoughts.

“SAIC to DSAIC,” Edward said into his intercommunication device located on his wrist.

“DSAIC,” Garrett responded.

“10-7 for fifteen,” Edward advised.

“10-4,” Garrett replied and made his way to Edward’s location. When he arrived he assumed Edward’s station.

“I’ll be back in fifteen. Cygnet is in the bedroom with Sarah,” Edward informed Garrett. “We will be leaving for the first location in one hour.”

“Alright, I have this covered. See you back in fifteen,” Garrett said.

Edward made his way out of the residence and down the stairs. Stepping into the men’s room, he went to the first urinal, unzipped his zipper.  Unfortunately, just seeing Bella’s almost naked body, had hardened his cock, which sprang out at full attention. This was so not the time for this shit.  Taking his dick in hand, he fought to relieve himself without spraying piss all over his suit. God, he had dreamt of her lovely body for the last ten years, though his dreams had paled in comparison to her body now. She had filled out and all the right places. Fuck he needed to stop thinking about it or he would never get his cock to soften. He knew there was only one sure-fire thought that would cause him to go limp like a wet noodle. Fuck it, it had been done. Grandma Cullen skinny dipping in the family pool. Unfortunately, it wasn’t an imagined thought, but a true nightmare that happened to him when he was ten. Once flaccid and tucked back in his pants, he went over the sink, washing his hands, and then splashing cold water on his face.

He had known it was going to be difficult to be around her, though he never thought he would be seeing her almost naked on the first day. Shaking the memory from his thoughts he walked out of the bathroom and headed to the Secret Service command center. Swiping his card, he pushed open the door and entered the room. Taking a bottle of water from the small refrigerator, he drank down the bottle, throwing the empty in the recycling bin. Surveying the bank of monitors, he verified that all was secure. A secure house makes her safe.

“Cullen,” Seth Youngblood called.

“Everything quiet?” Edward asked, knowing the answer.

“Yes, sir. The teams have checked in from all the ball sites and everything is secure. The vehicles are ready to depart in,” Seth began as he looked down at his watch. “In forty-three minutes. Will Cygnet be ready on time?”

“Yes. Sarah is helping her as we speak,” Edward answered. “I’ll leave you to it and will see you out front in forty-one minutes.”

Edward made his way back to the residential wing taking the stairs two at a

time to regain his composure. He needed to be strong and focused, Bella’s life was now in his hands and he would die before allowing her to be injured. She didn’t love him, he had lost her heart, though his would always remain hers until his last breath.

Garrett saw Edward walking down the hall. It had been quiet considering this was the first day of the new President’s administration. He had been on the previous administration detail and hated every moment of it. Unlike today, where Ms. Swan stepped into the role seamlessly. She was made for this role and there was no doubt in his mind that she was going to heal the country. The things that he had witnessed when Aro was President, were things that nightmares were made out of.

“Thank you, Garrett,” Edward said.

“All quiet,” Garrett informed.

“Good. I was just down in the control center and everything looks good there as well.”

“I will go make sure the teams are ready at each ball location,” Garrett explained.

“Thanks. Keep me informed of  anything out of the ordinary.”

Thirty-eight minutes later, the door to the bedroom opened and Sarah walked out with a huge smile. She looked up at Edward and fanned herself. Then his world tilted once more. Bella stepped out of the bedroom looking like a fucking wet dream. She had on a long mermaid dress with embroidered applet, and medium lace embroidery, strapless sweetheart neckline and v neck back. Fuck he hated that he watched designing shows, but he loved them so much.

When Renee had shown Bella this dress she immediately dismissed it. It was too form-fitting and too low cut, though it was a gorgeous dress. After trying every other dress, she finally caved in and put it on. It fit her as if it had been made for her. She couldn’t take her eyes off herself in the mirror.

“Baby, this is the dress,” Renee gushed her eyes filled with unshed tears.

“But,” Bella started.

“No buts. It is perfect,” Renee urged.

So here she stood in the dress, with a necklace and earring set that her parents had given her for the occasion. The other piece of jewelry was the one that she had never taken off since the day he placed it on her finger. The promise ring that represented the fact that one day he was going to marry her.

He had given it to her on the ski trip to Snowshoe where they first made love. He was her first and even though it hurt and was messy, it was one of the best nights of her life. Edward seemed to have a lot of knowledge on the subject, that made her at first wonder if he had experience, but he confessed that he had read and watched a lot of porn to be prepared for the night. Bella couldn’t help but giggle over his confession. After the first time, they learned together and each time it got better.

The morning after their first time, Edward presented her with the ring, while they were still in the bed. She woke up to find him looking at her with a smile that warmed her heart.

“I love you with all my heart and I know without a doubt that you are the only woman that I will ever love,” he murmured then pulled out the ring. “This is not an engagement ring, it is a ring of promise, that one day in the future I will ask you to marry me.”

Bella cried as he placed the ring on her finger. She never took it off, except for one day. The day that he told her that he was joining the Marines. It was the biggest mistake of her life and she would regret her outburst until the day she died. At the moment she thought she was making the right decision to break it off with Edward. God she wished she could turn back time and take back every hateful, hurtful word.

Looking up she spotted Edward immediately, he was standing guard with a blank expression. There was no look of love on this Edward’s face. She had killed it.  Just the thought made her want to return to the room and have another cry. However, she had a job to do and she was going to immerse herself in it.

“Are you ready to go, Madam President?” Edward asked, his voice even toned, without any emotions, even though his heart was racing.

“Yes, Agent Cullen,” Bella replied.

The rest of the evening was torture for Edward. Bella danced and socialized with a bright smile at each ball. The worst was when she danced with a man from each branch of the military. Several times he had to catch himself from storming onto the dance floor and breaking the fucker’s hand which was placed on her bare back. What the fuck was she thinking wearing a dress without a back and cut so low that the assholes could look down at her perfect breast?

It was after two in the morning, when Bella and her security team made it back to the White House. She was tired and hungry. Her feet hurt, her face hurt from all the smiling.  All she wanted to do was take a shower, put on her pajamas, slip down to the kitchen for a sandwich.

Edward escorted her to the residence, where as soon as she stepped foot on the floor, she removed her shoes.

“God, that feels so good,” she moaned as she wiggled her toes.

In that moment, Edward let his guard down and laughed.

Bella’s head whipped around and she stared at him. His eyes were not the cold ones that she had looked at all night. These were the green eyes so full of joy that she remembered. Suddenly, the moment passed and the coldness returned. Holding back her emotions. “Thank you, Agent Cullen. Your team was perfect today.”

“No thanks needed, Madam President. It is our job,” he replied.

Bella nodded her head, turned, then walked to her bedroom. Once she was inside and the door was closed, she allowed the tears to escape. Her heart was broken.

04/04/2020 Recommendation

Today’s recommendation is Man of Omerta. I love mafia stories, no I adore mafia stories. This one has a wonderful twist of being set in the 1960’s. Go check it out.

Man of Omerta by AgoodWITCH

Silence. Honor. Humility.  This was the world as I knew it. Isabella didn’t change this for me, she made it clearer. She became a part of that oath as I spoke the words, because a man who couldn’t protect his family, couldn’t be trusted to protect the organization. “We settle things like men, amongst men, we don’t run to cops like cowards.”

Chapter 1

Bensonhurst, New York, 1965

From the time I was twelve, I’d been a part of this life. My father was Aro Volturi’s consigliere, and from the days I used to stop by the bar on my way home from school, he’d seen the promise in me.

I was his godson, and as he’d lost his brother and two sons to this life with nothing and no one to blame but their own temper and stupidity, a decade after my start he was beginning to consider who would step in when he retired.

“My boy,” Aro called from the back of the smoke-filled room, “come talk to your godfather.”

I made my way to the table where he sat with my father and a few other high-ranking officers and he handed me an envelope. “Take care of this for me? You and Jasper leave tonight.”

Nodding, I took the envelope and made my way out of the bar. There was no point in opening it in front of him. Checking what he was asking of me before I agreed was rude, and it wouldn’t have mattered. I would have done it regardless. You don’t disrespect your elders, especially the boss.

Making it to my car, I saw an address in Chicago and a name, Stefan Romano. I knew of him; he was a low-level crook who thought it was a good idea to skim from the top. This was his only warning. We’d be coming back to New York with the money owed to Aro, whether he paid it, or we took it after he was dealt with.

I drove to the house and walked in the front door, smiling at the smell of Esme’s minestrone soup cooking. One of the perks of still living at home was getting a home-cooked meal every night. She could make a masterpiece out of nothing, but tonight I had other plans.

“Where’re you off to?” she asked, gesturing to the suitcase that was waiting for me.

“Chicago,” I told her.

“Take your heavy coat, you’ll freeze your balls off out there.”

“Yes, Ma,” I called, taking the coat from the hall closet, I shrugged it on.

“Ay, where do you think you’re going?” she hollered.

I stopped and walked to the kitchen and over to her where she was stirring dinner. I kissed her cheek and she patted mine, three quick taps her silent way of saying I love you.

4/2/2020 Recommendation

From my Heart Recommendation is Caledonia by WeeKittyAndTAT. Damn these girls and write a great story. I am loving every word and can’t wait to see where they take us on this wonderful ride.

Edward moves back to Seattle after working under his father’s shadow for five years. Wanting to make a name for himself, he uses his mother’s surname to establish himself. What happens when his father, and a friend call in a favor, and need him to first help a struggling restaurant. Will he want to when the owner let it fall to pieces while she vacationed and what other secrets will unfold along the way?

Caledonia – Chapter 1

Edward POV

I take my shades off as I walk into the real estate agency. “Mr. Masen,” Tanya the receptionist says with a flirtatious smile. “Aro is just wrapping up his meeting. I guess that means I’m the lucky one, because I’ll get to be the one to entertain you for now.” She gives me a coy smile, and moves so her barely covered breasts are on display.

I grin back at her letting my eyes run over her body, and fuck what a body she has. Tanya is over forty, around five-foot-ten and slender. Her breasts are a decent size, appear to be real, and are surprisingly perky for her age. Her blonde hair flows down, hitting the tops of her breasts, drawing the eye more to them. Her skin is flawless and pale. Trailing my eyes back to hers I notice the vivid color of hers, sparkling with lust. Her eyes are one of her greatest assets; the ocean blue color is quite intriguing.

“And how are you going to entertain me?” I ask her in a husky voice making her swallow and lick her lips.

I don’t have a big head or anything, but I know that I am a good looking guy. I have just turned thirty and stand at six-foot-three. I work out four times a week, and make sure that I eat healthy to keep myself in shape and toned. But most women say it’s my green eyes and wild penny-colored hair that makes me look as if I have just had sex. There’s something about freshly fucked hair that makes women wet with want.

“Oh, I have a few ideas,” she whispers as she leans forward to me.

“Anthony,” Aro says loudly.

I wink at Tanya and then turn to look at him.

“If you’d like to come in,” he says.

“See you later, Tanya,” I say looking back at her.

A Single Step by Tufano79

Summary: Isabella Biers had it all. A loving husband, two adorable children and the dream job. One night, however, changed everything. Bella had a spinal stroke, paralyzing her from the waist down. Bella’s husband tried to be there for her, but caring for a wife who was an invalid proved to be too much for him. He divorced his wife, unable to cope with her long recovery.

Despite being abandoned by her husband, Bella was determined to not let her disability define her. She wanted to walk again. Enter her physical therapist, Edward Cullen. With the perfect combination of humor, patience, stubbornness and love, can he help her in her endeavor in walking again? Will he open her heart after it was shattered by the man who vowed to be with her, in sickness and in health?

A snippet from the first chapter.

Sitting in her wheelchair, Isabella Biers watched helplessly as her husband packed his bags. She was confused, angry. It wasn’t her fault that her spine decided to implode; that her doctors told her to deal with the loss of her mobility; that the physical therapy hadn’t worked. “Riley, what about our vows?” she asked, trying to keep the tears out of her voice.

“Bella, I can’t,” Riley grumbled. “I married you, a complete woman. Now? I can’t be what you need me to be. I’m not your nurse.”

“Do you think I like this? Do you think that I planned for my spine to …?” Bella yelled. “I’m working my ass off to walk again!”

“It’s not enough,” Riley answered coldly. “Get a lawyer, Bella. I won’t fight you on anything. You can keep the house … with your medical bills, I’m not certain you’d be able to get a new place. You’ll need it.” He looked down his nose at his wife, hating that it had come to this.

“I hate you, Riley,” Bella sniffled, turning and rolling out of their bedroom. “When I need you the most, you leave.”

“I tried, Bells,” Riley spat, following her out of the bedroom. “I want a wife that can share in our responsibilities. I do not want to wipe your ass.”

Bella let out a scream, grabbing the closest thing to her hand. It was their wedding photo and she whipped it at his retreating form. It barely grazed his shoulder and crashed into the wall, covering the ground with wooden and glass shards. “Get out! I don’t need you. I don’t want you. Now that I know who you truly are, I never want you in my life again! You’ll never see our children again!”

He pursed his lips. “We’ll see, Isabella,” he scoffed, stepping over the mess. With an unsympathetic shake of his head, he opened the door and left.

Words to Die By ~ Chapter Fifteen

July 19, 2017 – Reveling the Past

Edward had been awake for hours. Bella was lying on her side, her naked body calling to him, though he knew she needed to rest. It had been one hell of a night.

After Bella had gotten to the root of the problem with Alice and told her never to wear that sickly shade of green again, they sat on the grass laughing. When they finally calmed down, Bella looked towards Edward and smiled at him. He came to them and helped them off the ground. Alice hugged Edward and said she was sorry for being such a bitch.

Jasper took Alice back to their villa to change her hideous green dress, while Bella had to change because Alice had torn the sleeve off her dress. She was a little pissed at the fact that her new five thousand dollar dress was ruined. Edward had kissed her and said he would buy her another one or maybe they could find someone to fix it. At that moment, she broke out in a broad smile and threw her arms around his neck, then kissed him breathless. He swore that moment to always try to make her this happy.

He had reserved a private dining room for their celebration. After the wonderful meal, he sat with Jasper and Emmett as they enjoyed a cigar. The girls were discussing wedding plans in hushed tones. Ever so often, Bella would look over to him and give him a sexy wink. She was a vixen and all his. When they finally got back to the villa, they spent until the wee hours of the morning making love intermingled with wild passionate sex. Either way, they collapsed into sleep with smiles on their faces.

Waking up, just a few hours later, he began thinking about how he was going to handle Bishop Bertazzoni. There was something in his voice that told Edward that the Bishop was hiding something and he wondered if his grandfather had helped him in some way. Easing out of Bella’s grasp, he got out of bed, making sure that she was covered up and sleeping soundly.

Taking care of his needs in the bathroom, he quietly left the bedroom, picking up his grandfather’s journals. Once he made himself a cup of coffee, he went into the living room and sat down, only turning on the one light by him. Taking a drink of his coffee, he noticed Seth walking by the window. They had gone above and beyond the call of duty on this trip. When the other team got here tonight, he would give both Ben and Seth some much needed time off.

He couldn’t wait for Angela to get here so he could show her around the house and maybe he could finally convince her to give in to her feelings for Ben. They both had been so pig-headed, but now that he was in love, he recognized the looks that they had been giving each other for years. Maybe in this romantic setting and a little push, they would finally tell each other how they felt. Taking one more drink of his coffee, he placed the cup on the table and opened one of the journals up.

This journal contained an entry he discovered where he had seen an entry pertaining to money that his grandfather had given the church. There were several other entries of payments that were given to different people and organizations. Then there was a uniquely different entry. It wasn’t to an individual but a couple and it wasn’t just one payment, but a trust that Caius had arranged for a child, a Domenico Romagna. Why? Not seeing anything else in the journal and he began to close it up when he noticed a sheet of paper stuck in the back. Pulling it out and reading it, he was shocked. It was a birth certificate for Domenico Romagna and the parents listed were Emilia Romagna, sixteen and Francesco Bertazzoni, twenty-six. Was this possible? Had his grandfather helped the Bishop give his child away? But who was Emila? Flipping back towards where the certificate had been, he found a picture of a young woman at her vow ceremony, wearing her wedding band on her right hand. When he turned the photograph over, he gasped. The name on the back was Emila Romagna.

“HOLY FUCK!” Edward exclaimed. Bishop Bertazzoni, well he was only a priest then, had gotten a nun pregnant. This was exactly what he needed. Edward then thought about the child and what had happened to him and to the family who adopted him. As he began to look more, he heard light footsteps.

“Edward, baby,” Bella called out her voice full of sleep, as she made her way over to the couch and sat down beside him. “What are you doing up?”

“Getting ready for my meeting with Bishop Bertazzoni and you won’t believe what I found out?”

Bella rubbed her eyes and yawned. “What?”

“Bishop Bertazzoni got a nun pregnant and grandfather helped him find a family for the baby,” Edward explained.

“HOLY SHIT!” Bella yelled, suddenly fully awake.

“Yeah. I was about to see if Caius wrote anything about the family,” Edward said, wrapping his arm around her and pulling her close.

“Did you find the name of the child?” She asked.

“Yes. I have the birth certificate. His name was Domenico Romagna.”

Bella’s brow knitted together. She had heard that name before, but where? Domenico wasn’t a common name. Saying the name over and over in her head and like a bolt of lightning, it came to her. Jumping up, she screamed then covered her mouth.

“Bella, what is it?” Edward questioned, concerned by the way she was acting. But before she could respond, Seth rushed into the room, with his gun drawn.

“What is wrong?” Seth asked in a worried tone.

“Nothing, Seth. We are both fine. Please go back to your duties,” Edward commanded.

Once Seth surveyed the room then holstered his gun and returned to the outside. Edward turned to Bella with a smirk. “Damn that guy is good, I’ll have to remember to give him a raise. Now tell me what makes you so excited.”

“Edward, when I was doing my research on the mafia families in Chicago and of course the Volturi family was one of those families, I remember seeing that Aro’s middle name is Domenico,” Bella explained.

Edward got up and began to pace the floor. Was it possible that Aro was the child of Bishop Bertazzoni and Emilia Romagna? Had his grandfather given the baby to the Volturi family? “Do you think that Aro was adopted by a Volturi family?”

“Well your grandfather would have known them, I mean wasn’t he one of the men who signed the contract?” Bella asked. “What was his name?”

Edward had taken a picture of the contract and he pulled it up on his phone. Looking at each name until he found the Volturi name and family crest. When each of the different family heads had signed the contract they also stamped their crest in blood by their names. Lorenzo Volturi was the name. Edward had never heard his name before, though he was probably already dead. Aro was born five years before he was born. Caius and Maria had waited until they arrived in the states before they started their family. His father had been their only child and Carlisle was twenty-three when his parents had been killed in an auto accident.

When he had finished with his thoughts he glanced towards Bella. “Lorenzo was the name. Does that sound familiar?”

“No. I really didn’t study the Volturi family much. I was more curious about the Cullen family,” she explained with a sly grin on her face.

“Alright. I think I have something that I can use to make the Bishop be more than happy to marry us,” Edward smirked.

“I really hope so. I mean if we have to get married outside the church that is okay, but I always dreamed of marrying in the church, it is not like I am a super religious. However, I was raised in the church,” she began.

“I was as well. Angela and I went faithfully every Sunday,” Edward confirmed as he pulled Bella into his arms. “We will be married in the church and on Saturday.”

Bella wrapped her arms around his waist and stared up into his soulful green eyes. She could get lost in their crystal prisms. “Take me to bed and make love to me.”

“Fucking gladly,” he growled, scooping her and carrying her back to their bed. Hours later, he left her sleeping in bed as he got up and dressed in his black Armani suit, black shirt, black tie, black Italian leather shoes, and the most important item, his father’s ring. He would make sure that the Bishop saw it as soon as he walked into the room. Placing the birth certificate in his jacket interior pocket, he walked out and got in the car. Ben was back on duty and drove him to the church.

Bishop Bertazzoni was looking out his window to see when Mr. Cullen arrived. He had prided himself in seeing a man’s character from the first glance that he took. His wait didn’t last long when a black Maserati Levante pulled up. The driver got out, looked around then went to the back door, opening it for its passenger. He saw a man emerge from the car and as he turned towards the church, Bishop Bertazzoni’s breath hitched. The man exuded power and danger. This had to be Caius Cullenello’s grandson and by the looks of him, he was every bit as ruthless as his grandfather, maybe even more so. Bishop Bertazzoni sat down at his desk and waited for his administrative assistant to escort Mr. Cullenello into his office.

Edward walked up to the young attractive woman at the desk. She had to be in her early twenties with long black hair and hazel eyes. He thought to himself that she looked very similar to the young nun that Bertazzoni had gotten pregnant all those years ago and wondered if the Bishop was still up to his old tricks. Up, he thought with a smile. Probably not without help from those little blue pills. A brass nameplate sat on the front of the desk with the name Gina De Luca. Edward wondered if she was kin to the De Luca crime family that was in control of Florida.

“Ciao Gina. Ho un appuntamento con il vescovo,” Edward said with a sly grin and allowed his tongue to lick the edge of the top lip. His heart belonged to Bella and he would never touch another woman, he just needed to warm her up in case he needed information from her later on. (Hello, Gina. I have an appointment with the Bishop.)

Gina let out a tiny moan. God this was man pure sex on legs. Unconsciously she felt her pussy contract as she imagined his cock. She had to endure sex with Bishop Bertazzoni and his less than adequate dick. She had been so excited to get the job as the administrative assistant to the Bishop after the last assistant had disappeared. The first week was very nice. The Bishop had been supportive and helpful, then one evening it all changed. He had asked her to stay late to help him with a project. Calling her into his office, she walked in and as soon as she did, he closed the door and locked it. Out of nowhere he slapped her across the face and commanded her to strip. Blinking the tears from her eyes from the slap, she looked up and saw pure evil in his eyes. Crying the entire time, she stripped from her dress and as soon she was naked he grabbed her by the hair, pulling her to his desk. He had ropes attached to the legs of the large desk and he proceeded to tie her arms and legs. When he was done he removed his robe and she was shocked to see that he was naked underneath. He told her that she had been chosen by God to fill a purpose. And so it began, he would take her whenever he saw fit. She was not allowed to be with any other man, so she could remain pure for God’s vessel.

“Buona giornata, signor Cullenello, ti sta aspettando,” Gina said as she directed him to the large ornate doors. After she had opened one of them, she stepped to the side and allowed Edward to walk past her. Bishop Bertazzoni was standing in the middle of the room with an unusual look on his face. Was that fear? (Good day, Mr. Cullenello, he is expecting you.)

Edward stepped into the room and came face to face with the Bishop. He was just as he expected, an old, fat pervert, except Edward, could almost smell the fear rolling off the Bishop.

“Signor Cullenello, che piacere fare conoscenza,” Bishop Bertazzoni acknowledged holding out his hand. (Mr. Cullenello, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.)

Edward slid his family crest’s ring to the side by his finger and took hold of the Bishop’s wrinkled, slimy hand.  As soon as the Bishop wrapped his hand around his, he grimly dropped his hand. Edward allowed a small smile to form on his face. “Mi dispiace per quello. A volte mi dimentico dell’anello della mia famiglia.” (So sorry about that. I sometimes forget about my family’s ring.)

“Why don’t we speak English? I need to keep up with it,” he stated and motioned for Mr. Cullenello to have a seat. Walking around his desk he sat down in the high backed chair and watched as Edward unbuttoned his jacket, flashing for an instant the grip of a gun before he sat down.

“Certainly,” Edward replied.

“To be honest I have not heard the name Cullenello for a very long time.”

“As you must know, my grandfather went to America to start a new life. Somewhere along the way, his home here in Lake Como was forgotten. My lovely fiance happened upon it during a recent visit. We are in the process of bringing back the home to its former glory,” Edward explained.

“So you will be living here,” Bertazzoni asked worriedly.

“Oh no, though we do plan to visit quite frequently. We are waiting for our contractor Domenico to complete the project,” Edward lied. He wanted to see the reaction to the name and when the color drained from this face. Yeah, fucker I know.

Taking several deep breaths, Bertazzoni tried to calm down before speaking. He needed to find out what Edward wanted. Breathing in once again and exhaling. “You said on the phone that you needed something.”

“My lovely, Isabella wants to be married here and I was hoping that you would be willing to make it happen this Saturday,” Edward explained.

“Mr. Cullenello, that is impossible. Not only do you need several documents for the government, the church also needs to know that you both are in good standing with the church.”

Edward reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the birth certificate, placing it on the desk. “As I said, we want to get married Saturday,” he repeated sitting back. “Let’s say at four o’clock.”

Bishop Bertazzoni picked up the paper and gasped. “Four o’clock will be just fine.”

Madam President

One plus One Equal Death

Bella couldn’t help but stare at Edward. She vividly remembered the day that he had broken her heart,  causing her to seal away her affections, never permitting any other man access to her heart. The memory strengthened her resolve to maintain a professional distance as she turned away, then stepped behind the President’s Resolute desk, her desk for the next four years, or possibly more.

“Mr. Cullen, please have a seat,” Bella said in a voice void of any emotion.

Edward paused for a moment. His heart was racing just being in the same room with her. She had only become more beautiful over the years. He watched her graceful movements as she walked around the desk and turned back towards him. Then he heard her voice as she told him to sit down. It was so formal, so void of any feelings, unlike the one he had remembered. He used to love to listen to her talk, her voice was so full of passion for whatever subject she was discussing. Things were undoubtedly different now and he needed to realize that.

“Thank you, Madam President,” Edward said as he unbuttoned his jacket and sat down, adjusting the holster, so it didn’t dig into the chair.

“I have been briefed on your responsibilities, though I would like to get to know the qualifications of each of the agents assigned to this office, including yours,” Bella inquired as she tried to keep her voice steady.

“Yes ma’am, I served four years in the Marines, spending most of my tour in Iraq and Pakistan. When it was time for me to re-up, I decided not to continue and came back to Washington. Once here, a friend of mine convinced me to apply to the Secret Service. I have been an agent for over five years and on Presidential protection for four of those years. My last position was Deputy Special Agent In Charge,” Edward answered, his voice also empty of emotion.

Bella wanted to know more about what he had been doing since he had left her, but it wouldn’t be appropriate to ask for personal information. “Thank you, Mr. Cullen,” she said, then looked down at the folder on the desk that had the names of her security team. “I see that there is one female agent on the team.”

“Yes, Kate Vos. She was top of her class and has been an active agent for three years. The Deputy Special Agent in Charge is Garrett Kline. He has been in the agency for eight years and on Presidential duties for five. He protected President Swan in his last year in office.”

“Well, Mr. Cullen, I am going to be extremely busy for the next four years putting this country back together after the mess that Aro Volturi has gotten it into. As I am sure you are aware, there will be a lot of traveling and visiting the hardest-hit areas of the country. Also, I am sure you are aware and well versed in the procedures and protocol with visiting Heads of State. I intend to rebuild the relationships with all our allies and restore the reputation of this country again. Do you have a problem with any of that?” Bella asked.

“No, Madam President. I will ensure your safety wherever you may go or whoever may grace this venerable institution,” Edward proclaimed, meaning it more than she would ever know.

Doctor Zafrina Botha stepped outside of the facility to take a moment to get a breath of fresh air. She had been in the building for forty-eight straight hours and the breathing apparatus was beginning to irritate her skin. She entered the decontamination unit, stripping off her headgear, suit and stepping naked in the shower. Donning a clean pair of scrubs, she pulled her long wet hair back into a ponytail.

As she walked outside, the excruciating heat hit her like a brick wall. The facility for her lab was in Lake Assal, which is located in the middle of Djibouti, in a closed depression at the northern end of the Great Rift Valley. Situated in the Danakil Desert, it is enclosed by hills in the western region. This location had been selected due to the fact that no one ever ventured into the area and provided them the seclusion and secrecy they needed to complete their work. Finally, her sister would have her revenge against those who had killed her husband. Zafrina thought back to the day that her backers had contacted her.

It was the day after her brother-in-law’s funeral. Serena was an emotional wreck and Zafrina was trying to comfort her. Amun was a local business broker in Matadi, while Serena worked as a doctor in the local hospital as an infectious disease specialist alongside her. Zafrina’s specialty was the mapping of the ebola virus.

She was sitting in her office going over the lastest data she had, hoping to find a cure for this bug when a man walked into her office.

“Good day, Dr. Botha. How is your sister holding up?”

Zafrina was taken aback by the fact that the man knew about her sister’s heartbreak. “As well as can be expected. Does she know you?” She asked, her eyes held a puzzled look. He was about six foot tall, dark hair, ice-blue eyes, and had a thick Russian accent. His pale skin was already pink from Africa’s strong sunshine.

“No, though I am here to offer a way for her to gain justice against those who killed her husband Amun,” he declared with a menacing tone of voice.

“Who are you?” Zafrina asked.

“I am Stefan Dimitri,” he answered.

Zafrina had heard of the name Dimitri before and as she thought hard, it suddenly hit her. Dimitri was the last name of the President of Russia, Vladimir Dimitri.  A look of surprise covered her face.

“I can tell you recognize my name. I am Vladimir’s brother and head of the KGB, so when I say I can help her get justice, I can,” Stefan declared with vengeance.

“What do you want?” Zafrina wondered.

“We would like for you to design a weapon with those little bugs that you know so much about,” Stefan explained with an evil smile.

“What type of weapon?”

“An airborne ebola that can be dispersed in a crowd,” Stefan said.

“Ebola is not airborne, unlike some of the other viruses,” Zafrina explained.

“We are aware, but the other viruses are not as deadly as Ebola. Our thoughts were if you could possibly combine two viruses.  One that is an airborne contagion that could be bonded with Ebola?”

“This is not like making a cake,” she snapped.

“I understand, but with the right equipment would you be willing to try?”

Zafrina stopped and thought about precisely what Stefan was proposing. Was it impossible to genetically modify the Ebola virus to combine with an airborne virus.? She mentally went through the database of all the airborne viruses when it came to her, Tuberculosis. Maybe, just maybe it was possible, though she would need highly technical facilities and test subjects.

Stefan could tell she was mentally trying to work out what she would need to accomplish this task. “We have built a facility in Lake Assal with level four biohazard protocols. You just need to find your test subjects and I will make sure when the testing is accomplished, they disappear.”

“Why are you doing this for Serena?”

“We are not doing this for Serena. Our agenda is to bring America to its knees,” Stefan growled.

The Americans were the reason why Amun was dead and why her sister was hurting. Amun had been just walking down the street when a shot rang out going straight through his heart. He died instantly. The intended target was an arms dealer, who was ten feet behind him. The Navy Seal shot the wrong target. Zafrina and Serena were in their lab when they received the news of Amun’s death. Serena collapsed on the floor, crying uncontrollably. Zafrina swore that she would make whoever did this pay for her sister’s pain.

“I am in,” Zafrina said, her voice shook with fury.

Zafrina went home after that day and told Serena everything. For the first time since Amun’s death, there was a light in her eyes. They gave their notices of resignation at the hospital, packed their suitcases and traveled to Lake Assal. The research facility was state of the art and if they were lucky they would be able to cook up this new mutant virus. Stefan had already recruited and placed at least a dozen lab techs and security personnel.

Most would have thought finding human test subjects difficult, however, in the Congo, people came up missing all the time. Per Zafrina’s specifications, six men with Ebola were found and seized, along with six men with tuberculosis, and finally six healthy men. Zafrina and Serena began their research, which was a long and tedious process, but their vengeance demanded that they remained focused.

President Vladimir Demitri was enraged. How could Aro lose to a damn woman? Six years ago, he had flooded the election with money and propaganda to get Aro Volturi elected. Aro was an idiot, only looking out for his personal needs and potential financial gains. What the American people were not aware of is that prior to running for office he couldn’t obtain any more loans from America banks, so he came to Russia and begged. Vladimir was more than happy to give him the loan, knowing that one day he would repay him. After Aro was elected, a world-wide shock, he lifted the sanctions against Russia. When Russia became more aggressive against the Ukraine, Aro looked the other way. President Volturi was the best investment Russia had ever made.

Aro thought he was above the law and made some very ill-advised mistakes, causing the American people to rally behind the candidate running against him. Unfortunately, she was fucking perfect, without skeletons in her closet. Isabella Swan was the darling first daughter of the beloved former President Charlie Swan, who ran the country with compassion and strength. Under his presidency, he was able to direct his military to hunt down and eradicate the terrorists who attacked on American soil.

Vladimir had hoped that the fact she was a woman, and not even married, would have been enough to turn voters against her, instead, she got the backing of the women voters. Then she selects for her running mate, a God damn galbooboi. He tried again to hack into the voting machines, but this time around measures had been implemented to ensure they were secured. Flooding social media with fake news, as he had done in the first election, unfortunately failed, as voters were not as receptive this time around.

Deep in thought, he was unaware of the entrance of his brother coming in until he had called out to him. When he turned towards him he saw a smile on his face. “Do you have good news, Stefan?”

“Yes, brother. You are the proud father of a new strain of an airborne Ebola virus,” Stefan gushed.

“Yes. Now you have your first-strike weapon.”

“And is our operative prepared for second-strike?” Vladimir inquired.

“The last message we received, stated that they were being hired for a prominent position in Miss Swan’s administration. When the time comes they will give us the surprise advantage,” Stefan explained.

“Excellent. Activate the other sleeper cells and get the mules ready to transport. I want to hit the biggest target we can as soon as possible. Did Zafrina say what the incubation time is for the virus?” He asked.

“Seventy-two hours,” Stefan answered.

“Wonderful. Now, what event?” Vladimir wondered as he went over to his computer and pulled up the list of events in the U.S. with the largest crowds. His face broke out in an evil grin. The first Sunday in February was the perfect time to release the virus. “I never did like football.”

AN: My desire when I came up with this plot and wrote my first chapter back in July 2019 for Babies at the Border Compilation, that it was going to be a political story with an evil virus threat. How was I to know those thoughts would come to life? This week I wondered if I should continue the story, but with the help of a friend and listening to others, I decided to continue.

So, yes this is a political story. Yes, this will have an outbreak.  But as always, there will be a HEA!!!

Words to Die By ~ Chapter Fourteen

Chapter Fourteen

July 18, 2017

Bella had just finished stepping into the new dress she had purchased this afternoon. After she and Edward had left the mansion, they decided to do a little shopping in town, walking arm in arm, with both Seth and Ben following them, keeping an eye out for any dangers. Stepping into a quaint shop, Tessabit, she fell in love with the store’s offerings.  Going from rack to rack, Bella declared how beautiful each piece was. A dark-haired woman asked if she could be of assistance.

“Yes, thank you.  You have such a wonderful selection that I am loving everything I see, and I really need a special dress for the dinner my fiance and I are having this evening,” Bella bubbled in English.

“Oh, you are American,” the lady said with a bright smile. “I am Gina, the owner of this establishment.”

“So sorry, I was just so excited about your shop. My name is Bella and this is Edward. Your English is wonderful.”

“Grazie. We have many tourists who come in that don’t speak Italian,” Gina explained. “Let me show you some things that would be perfect.”

Bella looked up at Edward. “Why don’t you have a seat? I promise not to take too long.”

“Take all the time you want, my love,” Edward said, placing a sweet kiss on her lips.

Gina showed Bella several dresses and saw right away that this couple had money. Never once did Bella look at a price tag. She also saw the large diamond and sapphire on her finger. It was stunning and like nothing she had ever seen before. Once several dresses, tops, pants, and shoes were selected, Gina placed the items in one of the dressing rooms and showed Edward where he could sit. The room she had put them in was a private room, to allow the customer the ability to select their purchases without prying eyes.

Edward found a comfortable couch outside the dressing room door and watched the fashion show as Bella modeled each outfit for him. God, she was a vision in anything that she wore. Taking his bottom lip between his teeth, he planned to take her to a lingerie boutique next and have some fun. “Fuck,” he thought. “My dick is hard just thinking about it.”

After Bella had decided what she was going to purchase, Gina took item after item to the counter, packing them carefully in tissue paper. Ringing up the total, she was even taken aback by the amount.

Bella looked at the total and, without a moment of hesitation, pulled out her credit card to pay.

“Darling, what are you doing?” Edward asked, slipping his hand around her waist and leaning into her ear.

Bella turned to her head to look at him. “What does it look like?”

“Love, it is not safe to use your card,” Edward whispered. “Aro has probably put a trace on all your cards.”

“Really?” Bella gasped.

“It is what I would do,” Edward explained, placing a kiss behind her ear. Taking out his wallet, he handed Gina his card. After it was processed, Gina handed him the receipt.

“Thank you for your business and please come again,” she invited.

“I will. We plan to come back often,” Bella said, taking a few of the bags, while Edward took all the rest.

Leaving the shop, they handed their bags to Seth, who was tasked in taking them back to the car.

Bella had seen the lust pouring off Edward as she modeled each outfit and she wanted to experience the same. Eyeing the perfect location, she pulled him into the next shop.

Edward wondered what had Bella so excited; then he looked around the shop. “HOLY FUCK!” He exclaimed. He had died and gone to heaven, it was an Armani Shop.

Bella reached up, licking a trail to his ear and taking it between her lips and sucked. When she heard a moan escape from his lips, she released, then whispered. “I can’t wait for you to model for me.”

A sharp-dressed man came over to them. “Benvenuti in Emporio. Come posso aiutarla?” Welcome to Euporio. How can I help you? The woman was lovely, but the man, God he was sex on legs.

Bella saw the way the man was staring and it wasn’t at her, but at Edward. She knew exactly what he was thinking; however, he was hers. Placing her hand on his chest, she put on a smile. “Il mio amante ha bisogno di alcuni nuovi semi. Sembra che abbiamo danneggiato quegli ultimi a causa della passione.” (“My lover is requiring a few new suits. We  seemed to have damaged that last few in the throes of passion.”)

The man’s mouth fell open and he gasped at the woman’s comment. She was a lucky bitch. When he had calmed down from his fantasy of being fucked by the fine piece of meat. “Mi chiamo Dante. Mi piacerebbe spogliarti, no, intendo vestirti con uno dei nostri abiti.” (My name is Dante. I would love to undress you, no, I mean dress you in one of our suits.)

Bella couldn’t help but giggle, while Edward retained his calm facade. It wasn’t that he had an issue with whom people choose to love, but he was a pussy guy and from now on the only pussy he craved was the sexy woman on his arm. Bella was all he was ever going to want or need. She was his equal in passion, she had compassion for others, and he knew that she was going to be a fantastic mother. At that thought, Edward made himself a mental note to discuss with Bella her feelings towards children, and how many children she wanted. He had been an only child and so had she, so he hoped she wanted more than one. Hell, he could almost see a house full, all with her mahogany hair and brown eyes. He really didn’t care if they had sons or daughters, either way, it was going to be up to them who took over the family when the time came to pass it on.

They began walking around the store and Edward pointed out what he wanted to try on. When he had everything, he demanded a private dressing room to try them on. Dante opened his mouth to protest, but Edward looked at him with his steely, deadly green eyes, Dante was overcome with fear. He then directed them to the exclusive dressing room that was only opened to the most prestigious clientele.

As Bella sat on the deep burgundy velvet couch, drooling as Edward modeled suit after suit. Her favorite was a midnight blue double-breasted suit that she imagined Edward’s grandfather would have worn when he was Edward’s age. He looked like the badass mafia Don that he was and he was all hers.

It was then her thoughts went to him in his office, sitting behind a large wooden desk, his head would be down as he was working on something. She would walk in with just a trench coat and heels, provocatively stalking towards him. When he would look up, she would drop her jacket. He would stand, and motion for her to come around to his side of the desk,  turn her around bending her over it, unzipping his pants and ram his cock deep inside her. He would bring her to her release and his without even removing his pants or jacket. God, she could almost feel him, the only man that ever stretched and filled her completely.

“Love. Love. Bella, Love,” Edward sang when he glanced in her direction. Her mouth was open, her chest was rising and falling rapidly. Fuck, she was panting with a faraway look in her eyes and she was rubbing her thighs together. His little fiancee was turned on. He was going to purchase this suit for sure, then find out what she was thinking about and make sure it comes true. He came over and got down on his knees in front of her, ran his hand up the inside of her leg until he reached her heat.

Bella snapped out of her dream and looked down. “Edward,” she panted. “I love you so fucking much.”

“I love you, too,” Edward groaned. “And I am buying this suit and going to make that little dream of yours come true.”

Bella’s heart quickened and instinctively licked her lips. “I can’t wait.”

They left the shop with the double-breasted suit, a tuxedo, and a slim fit black suit. Bella had selected several shirts and ties to match.

They decided to head back to the villa because they needed to get ready before everyone else showed up. Deciding to shower separately to prevent them from saying the fuck with dinner and remain in bed for the rest of the night quenching each other’s desires having wild passionate sex, they began to dress separately. Bella had decided to wear her new black short dress with sheer sleeves and two rows of gold buttons. A pair of black Jimmy Choo, a gold diamond tennis bracelet, and diamond earrings, that were from Edward’s grandfather’s collection. She looked like a million dollars, and with all the jewelry she wore, it was close to that amount.

Edward was wearing his new black suit, white shirt, and his favorite Italian leather shoes. He had tried to tame his hair, but it was impossible. Putting on a dash of his favorite cologne, he was ready to tell his friends and family the exciting news. Once they got back to Chicago, he would have all his family over to introduce them to his wife. There wouldn’t be the need to demand that they would protect her, because it was just one of those unspoken rules.

Glancing over, he saw Bella and his heart skipped a beat. Fuck she look like pure sex on legs. “Are you ready?”

“Yes,” she answered.

Edward snaked his arms around her and pulled her tight against him. “Have I told you how fucking much I love you?”

“Not in the last hour,” she giggled.

“Then I have been lacking in my responsibilities,” he murmured, leaning in to place a kiss on her lush lips.

“Fucking idiot,” Edward growled. “We will continue this later.”

Heading toward the living room, they heard Emmett cry out. “Damn it, Rose, that hurt.”

When they came into the room, they saw Emmett rubbing the back of his head and Rose sneering at him. “Were you raised by wolves?”

“Ah ruuuuu,” Emmett howled, his head bent back.

“Emmett, I wouldn’t piss her off,” Edward advised fighting back his laughter. “She could kill your ass and make it look like an accident.”

Rose came over and gave Bella a hug. “Damn, girl I love this.”

“I found it at this great shop in town,” Bella gushed. “I will have to take you.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

The door opened and in walked Jasper with Alice on his arm. He was dressed in a black suit, with a white button-down shirt, while Alice was dressed in a sickly olive green dress. Bella couldn’t believe that she thought this was flattering. The dress color made her pale skin look green.

“Good evening, everyone,” Jasper said, while Alice greeted everyone with a smile, except Bella, whom she just nodded with a fake smile.

“I just wanted to thank each one of you for coming with us on this venture to find more information about my family,” Edward began, then wrapped his arm around Bella’s waist and pulled her close. “With Bella’s help, I have not only found out more about my grandfather’s life here, but also a way to take Aro down with the help of other mafia families. Without this valuable information, there is no doubt that we would have suffered casualties. As you all know, I fell in love with her books, before I even knew anything about her. Then Miss Nosey here found Grandfather Caius’s journal and began asking questions. In my father’s journals, he wrote that life is too short and when you find someone that completes you to grab on tight. And we have invited you each here this evening to inform you that is what I, no we are doing. I asked this wonderful woman to marry me and she said yes.”

“OH MY GOD!! CONGRATULATIONS,” Rose screams, running over to hug Bella. “Let me see the ring.” Bella giggled and put out her hand, the diamonds dancing from the lights of the room. “Damn, that is gorgeous.”

“It was Maria’s,” Bella sighed.

“Where did you find that?” Emmet asked.

“Grandfather had the location in his journal, along with many others, that I have been sending you all out to find,” Edward explained.

“Yeah. We can’t believe how much we have found,” Jasper exclaimed.

As the guys discussed what all had been found, Rose was still gushing over Bella’s ring. Alice hadn’t said a thing. Bella looked over to her and she could see the anger rolling off her in waves.

“What?” Bella asked, her brow knitted together.

“You, BITCH!” Alice replied in a yell.

Edward’s head whipped around. “ALICE!”

Bella laid her hand on Edward’s arm and looked up at him. “Let me handle this.”

Edward began shaking his head. He knew how deadly Alice could be and he couldn’t even think about Bella getting hurt. “No.”

“It will be okay, I promise you,” Bella pleaded.

“Alright, but I will be watching closely and if it gets out of hand, I will step in,” Edward declared.

“Thank you. Alice, why don’t we go outside and talk?” Bella asked.

“I don’t fucking want to talk to you,” she hissed.

Bella walked towards her and grabbed her arm. “Too fucking bad,” she growled as she pulled Alice’s arm to her back and began pushing her toward the patio, then on the grass yard.

Alice was screaming, calling Bella every name in the book, while she tried to free herself from Bella’s hold; however, Bella was taller and stronger. When they had reached the grass, she was pushed onto the ground. She jumped up, and reached for Bella, grabbing hold of one of the sleeves of the dress and tore it off. She reared back to take a swing at Bella’s face, but Bella ducked and instead, she used her shoulder to knock her once again on the ground.

“Give it up, Alice, because you are not going to win. I am stronger and smarter than you are. I have had enough of you and your attitude. I am going to ask Edward to remove you from the family and he would do it just like that,” Bella snickered snapping her fingers.

Alice bolted off the ground, lunging herself toward Bella. She was going to fucking kill the bitch. No one was going to kick her out of her family.

Bella saw her coming and at the last moment, she stepped to the side, causing Alice to crash to the ground. As soon as Alice rolled over, Bella landed on top of her, trapping her arms to the ground.

“LET ME UP!” Alice screamed.

“No,” Bella said.

“You have ruined everything. He was going to make him pay, but now he is so wrapped up in you, that he will forget what he promised,” Alice cried. “He promised.”

Bella had hoped she could break down whatever barrier that Alice had up around her and find out what her problem was. “Who promised?”

Tears were pouring down her face. “Edward,” she wailed.

Bella releases her arms and moves to the side of her. “What did he promise?” Bella whispered.

“To make Aro pay for killing my mother and sister,” Alice replied between sobs as she sat up.

“Alice, Edward hasn’t changed his goal of making Aro pay for all the horrors that he has committed,” Bella advised.

“But, he never smiled or laughed until you came along. He was always so focused on the goal and didn’t have time for anything else,” Alice explained.

“I understand your concern, but Edward is still the man that he always has been. I love him with all my heart soul and I really hope that we can be friends. We are going to be family after all, when I marry him,” Bella explained.

“You mean you are not going to have Edward make me leave?” Alice asked, surprised by Bella’s remark about being friends.

“God, no. Why would I want that? I just needed to break the barrier down to see what was going on in your mind.”

Alice threw herself at Bella, wrapping her arms and hugging tight. “I would love to be your friend.” They sat on the grass for several minutes hugging and crying.

Edward had been watching the entire time. He had to catch himself from going out and stepping between them, though in the end, Bella was able to reach Alice. He was happy that the love of his life, loved his family members as much as he did.

Madam President ~ Chapter Two

Chapter Two

Protecting His Heart

Years of training and the fact he had weeks to prepare mentally for this assignment, this moment, had made it possible for him to look so reserved to see her, even though on the inside, he was a wreck. How was he going to be able to keep his emotions in check? Had it really been ten years since the last time he had been in the same room with her?

They had been friends since grade school, but it wasn’t until the end of August before their sophomore year that Edward came to realize that he just didn’t want Bella as a friend, but also a girlfriend. Bella had gone to Europe to participate in a summer abroad program, studying the inner workings of different governments. Edward had come with her parents to meet her plane when she returned. They were standing at the gate, watching for her to exit customs. The doors opened and out walked not the awkward bookworm that left three months before, but a stunning young woman. She had grown a few inches, and her body had blossomed into amazing curves. Instead of her standard, jeans, t-shirt, and tennis shoes, she was wearing a dress that hugged all her new curves, with a pair of high heeled shoes.

Edward gasped, while his heart began to race. He couldn’t believe his eyes. As soon as Bella saw him, he was blessed with a brilliant smile, and she started running towards him. He opened his arms as she propelled herself into them, placing her arms around his neck. Wrapping her up tightly, he buried his face in her fragrant brunette locks and took a deep breath, drinking in her sweet scent. Having her in his arms caused his teenage body to react.

“Edward,” she sighed and pulled back, looking into the emerald green eyes that she had missed so much. She had loved him for so long, hoping and praying that he would see her more than as just a friend. It had been two summers ago that her feelings for him had evolved. Their families were vacationing together at his parent’s beach house in Nags Head, North Carolina. They had gone down to the beach the first morning of the trip, and while Bella laid out in the sun, Edward had gone swimming in the ocean. She had just finished reading her current book and looked towards the water. He was walking towards her; water beads were trickling down his chest to the waistband of his swim shorts. He looked like one of the Greek Gods in her books. Her heart began to race, and at that moment, she knew that she was in love with him.

Edward would have been content to hold her forever, although he had to let her go so that she could greet her parents. When he placed her down on her feet, he turned to Charlie Swan, the man who was like a second father to him and saw his mustache twitch. Looking into Charlie’s brown eyes, he saw a glint of mischievousness, and he gave him a wink. Edward didn’t know what to make of that, though he knew that later Charlie would clue him in. That was just the type of relationship that they had, and that was precisely what he did. After they arrived back to the Swan’s home, Charlie and Edward took Bella’s multiple suitcases up to her room. Renee shooed them out of the room so that she could spend some quality time with Bella. Charlie gave Bella a kiss on the cheek and placed a kiss on Renee’s lips, which lasted a little longer than just a small peck. It was a kiss of passion and love.

“Come on, Edward, let’s let the women catch up,” Charlie said, placing his hand on Edward’s shoulder and squeezing it.

“Will you be staying for a while, Edward?” Bella asked, hoping that he would. She was going to lay all her feelings for him on the table. Praying that he wouldn’t laugh at her, but would embrace them also.

“Yeah, I’ll be hanging out with Charlie. Come find me when you’re done,” he smirked, then gave her a wink.

“Okay,” she said, her voice cracking as her cheeks bloomed in a pink hue.

Edward followed Charlie down the stairs and into his den. Turning on the Washington A’s baseball game, Charlie went over to the little refrigerator, grabbed two bottles of water, and walked back to the couch where Edward had sat. Handing him one of the bottles, Charlie sat down in his recliner. They sat there for a few minutes, watching the game.

“Edward, I have something I want to tell you,” Charlie said.

Edward turned towards Charlie and looked in his concerned brown eyes. “What is it?”

“You are an intelligent young man, and I am sure you are aware that the country has some major problems,” Charlie began, running his fingers absentmindedly across his mustache.  Charles Swan had been a Senator for the last thirteen years and was regaled for his efforts in ensuring a better way of life for the country’s citizens.

“Yes, Sir.”

“I have decided to run for President,” Charlie disclosed.

Edward gasped. That was something that he had not suspected that would come out of Charlie’s mouth. President. Wow! “What can I do to help?”

“I haven’t told Bella yet, and to be honest, this is going to be hard on her. The campaign will be long and demanding for her. I need you to keep an eye on her and,” Charlie began with a smile, placing his hand on Edward’s knee. “And you need to tell her that you love her.”

“What? No, I don’t. She is just a friend. I…” Edward stammered his heart racing. How had Charlie known, hell, he had just figured it out himself. Raking his fingers through his hair, he tried to calm down before he spoke.

“Edward, Renee and I have watched the two of you for years. Even at the very beginning, we could see how close you were together. Over the years, your close friendship grew into this beautiful love that seems to flow between the two of you. We that is Renee and I, are happy that Bella has found someone like you. I can see that you are going to do some great things in the future, and one of those will be to protect my daughter’s heart,” Charlie begged.

“I will, Sir,” Edward confirmed confidently. “When are you announcing your candidacy?”

“Tomorrow. I would like for you and your parents to be there, needing all the support I can get,” Charlie advised.

“I am sure Mom and Dad will be backing you all the way,” Edward said.

They began watching the game, yelling at the tv when the refs made bad calls. Thirty minutes later, Renee and Bella walked into the room. Edward heard them come in and immediately turned toward them. Bella had changed into a pair of shorts and a pink top that she had tied, showing off her midriff. God, she was beautiful, and he just hoped that she felt the same way for him as he did for her.

Bella ran over and jumped on Charlie’s lap, causing him to groan. She giggled as she bent down and placed a kiss on his cheek. “Did you miss me, Daddy?”

“Of course I did, Noodle,” he chuckled, knowing how much she hated her nickname. When she was younger, the only food that they could get her to eat was butter noodles.

“Daddy! Don’t call me that,” Bella growled. “You know that I have grown out of that name. I eat more than just noodles now.”

Charlie wrapped his arms around her and gave her a hug. “You will always be my Noodle,” he sighed deeply. “Bella, Sweetie, I have something I need to tell you.”

Renee walked over and placed her hand on the back of the recliner where they were sitting. She and Charlie had talked at length about this decision to run. Going through both the pros and cons; however, in the end, she knew that Charlie needed to run.

“What is it?” Bella asked as a line of worry materialized between her eyebrows.

Charlie took his finger and rubbed across the frown line on her brow. “Nothing is wrong. I have decided to run for President.”

A sudden look of pride passed across her face. She had heard the concerns as she had traveled through Europe. During her studies, she had been able to sit in on many meetings of diplomatic heads, as they discussed the rising crisis in America. With the increasing unemployment, banks on the verge of collapsing, and the stock market on a steady decline, it was evident to everyone, except the current administration that the United States was heading toward another depression. Bella knew her father was a problem solver.  During his time as a U.S. Senator, he would work around the clock, trying to bring the country back to its glory. “Daddy, I think you would be great as President, and I will do anything I can to make it happen.”

Charlie slowly shook his head and smiled. “This is going to be hard and as much as I hate to admit it, dangerous. There are a lot of crazy people in the country, and many are loyal to the current administration. I have hired private security and have made an application with the DHS Secretary. The application is now in the Congressional Advisory Committee and waiting for them to approve it. Bella, you must always follow what the security team tells you. Promise me that you won’t do anything crazy, even though I know you will feel the constraints of the limitations you may have to submit to during the campaign?”

“I promise,” Bella agreed. “When are you going to make the announcement?”

“Tomorrow. I have contacted a friend of mine at ABC, and he is coming to the house tomorrow morning,” Charlie explained.

Bella looked over to where Edward was standing. “Do you want to go for a long walk on my last day of freedom?”

“I think that is a grand idea,” he said with a smile.

Charlie leaned up and kissed her cheek once again. “Go, have some fun.”

Bella hugged him again. “We won’t be too late.” She got off his lap and held out her hand to Edward, who took it, giving it a little squeeze. Walking hand and hand, they left the house, then headed towards the metro station.

Edward knew the perfect place to go. It was a favorite of both of theirs, and if this was going to be the last free day without security surrounding her, then this would be the perfect location. They walked down the street, hand in hand, as Bella told him about her adventures in Europe.

He had not just been sitting around doing nothing this summer, he had taken two college prep classes. When he graduated in three years, he would have enough credits to be a Junior in college instead of a freshman. This would allow him to concentrate on his major in cybersecurity. His dream would be that one day he would work for the Homeland Security Cyber Division. He knew Bella was also going to be able to be a Junior in college as well when she graduates, but she was going to be pre-law, just like her father and grandfather.

They got on the Metro and after finding two seats together, they sat down. After they were on their way, Bella noticed that they had not stopped holding hands. Looking down at his large hand wrapped around her tiny one, a smile burst across her face.

“Edward, I need to tell you something,” Bella began, as her heart began to beat wildly in her chest.

Edward looked down into her soulful eyes. “Can it wait until we get to the mall? I, too have something to tell you and I don’t want to do it on a train full of strangers.”

Hearing that he had something to tell her, made her scared. Had he found someone else while she was gone? How was she going to survive if he had? There would be no way she could see another girl with him.

“Bella, are you okay?” Edward asked as he saw that her face had turned whiter than the wall behind her.

“Yeah. The jet lag must have hit me,” she responded, trying to get the lump from the back of her throat.

Edward could tell that something was off. Then a thought hit him like a brick wall. Had she found someone in Europe? Had he been so stupid not to realize his feelings too late? Then he felt her hand squeeze his when she laid her head on his shoulder. He let out the breath that he had been holding and leaned his head against hers. They sat in silence until they arrived at Foggy Bottom station and began walking down 23rd NW. The blistering August sun broke through the city’s highrises, blades of light striking the sidewalk. Fifteen minutes later, they were buying their gelato from Mario.

“Isabella and Eduardo, what a pleasure,” Mario exclaimed, then began scooping two cups of salted caramel.

Edward reached into his pocket and handed Mario a twenty. When Mario tried to hand back the change, Edward waved him off. This was the least he could do for Mario and his wife, who had lost her leg in an accident five years before. The Swans and the Cullens had been taking care of their medical expenses that were not covered by insurance secretly.

“Thanks,” Mario murmured. They thought he didn’t know about the payments, but he wasn’t born yesterday. At first, his pride was injured, but seeing his love healthy and happy convinced him to keep his mouth shut. “Go enjoy your day.”

“We will, Mario,” Bella chirped happily.

They took their bowls of gelato and sat down on the steps, overlooking the reflecting pool toward the majestic Washington Monument. It was their favorite place to sit. When they had finished, Edward took Bella’s bowl and threw it in the trash can. As he began to walk back up the steps towards Bella, he stopped and admired her beauty. With his heart full of love for her, he took the remaining steps, sitting on one below where she sat. Taking her hand once again into his, he looked up into her eyes.

“Edward, I need to tell you something,” Bella implored.

“Please let me say what I have to say first,” he pleaded.

“I have been a dense idiot,” he began.

“What do you mean?” Bella asked.

“I have wasted so much time, not telling you that I love you,” he said in a deep voice that seemed to vibrate deep into her heart.

“You love me?” She said, blinking back tears; however, one escaped a trickled down her cheek.

He reached up and wiped the tear away with his thumb and brought it up to his lips, sucking off the salty wetness. Even though it was breaking his heart, he needed her to know that if she didn’t feel the same way, he would always be her friend. “But Bella, if you found someone while you were gone, I don’t want you to be afraid that I won’t stay your friend.”

Bella reached out and placed her hand on his cheek. “I love you so much Edward, and I have for so long.”

Bella giggled and lowered her forehead onto his. “I Love you.”

After that glorious day on the steps of Lincoln Memorial, Edward and Bella were inseparable. Charlie won the election and moved into the White House. Just as he promised, he worked day and night to put the country back on the right track for all Americans. Edward and Bella graduated with honors, going to George Washington University. Secret Service thought it would be too challenging to keep Bella safe in the dormitories, so a townhome was found just outside the campus for her to live.

After graduation, Edward was applying for jobs with several government agencies, while Bella attended law school. He was sitting in his apartment one morning when the news about a bombing in Baghdad, killing over eighty-five people in two days was being covered. His heart stopped when he saw a small boy lying in the street dead. He knew that he had to do something. It was on that day that he joined the Marines.

Edward had just finished signing all the documents necessary for his commitment to join the Corp. His innate desire that he needed to fight to protect the girl he loved, his family, and countrymen from the terrorist threats and actions of Osama Bin Laden, was paramount. Arriving at the townhouse on the west side of DC, he was met by the ever-vigilant Secret Service officers, here to protect Bookworm. He was on their list of people who were allowed into the home once he produced his photo ID. It was for her protection, and he was glad they were looking out for the love of his life.

He walked up the steps of her townhome, showing ID to the security and then walking in.

“Bella,” he called out.

“In here,” she yelled.

Edward walked into the living room to find her on the couch with her laptop. Walking over to her, he bent down and placed a kiss on her lips, then sat down.

Bella put her laptop down. “Did you hear anything from Homeland Security?”

Taking a deep breath, he tried to calm his nerves, knowing that she was going to be upset by his news. “Bella, Sweetie, I need to talk to you about a decision I have made.  I have decided to join the Marines.”

“I can’t continue to sit by allowing innocent children to be killed in the streets. I cannot continue not to take action as the terrorists continue to make and carry out threats of violence. So I joined the Marines,” Edward confessed.

“Well, unjoin,” Bella huffed.

“Babe, you know it doesn’t work like that. Please understand,” he pleaded.

Tears were running down her face as she looked into his eyes.  It was at that moment that she knew he was serious. “No, you can’t do this to us. You are supposed to be with me. Don’t you love me anymore?”

“You know I do, but I need to do this,” Edward said, reaching out for her hand; however, she moved further back from him.

“If you loved me, you wouldn’t do this,” Bella cried.

“Bella, love,” Edward begged.

“Just go,” Bella murmured with her face in her hands.

Edward left that day, but he tried many times to call or text her, though she never responded. He went through basic training and then was stationed in Baghdad. One night he was lying in his bunk watching mindless shows on his computer when suddenly Bella’s face appeared with a hulk of a man whose arm was wrapped around her waist.

“The first daughter was seen out last night with a mystery man. They looked happy together, laughing and dancing. Could this be her Mr. Right?”

Edward’s heart broke into a million pieces. She had moved on. He served four years in the Marines and once out, he came back to D.C. and applied to the Secret Service. After completing the thirty-four-page application, along with a written test, physical endurance test, the drug test, the vision test, the hearing test, the initial interview, the panel interview, the home interview, and the worst experience of his life, the polygraph, which elicited every foible and shame, he passed all the tests.  With a glowing recommendation by Charlie Swan, and his high scores, he was hired.

He knew which part of the service he was most interested in being assigned and worked tirelessly to be assigned as an Agent who protected the President and first family. For three years, he protected President Volturi even though he hated everything he stood for and did to the country. Edward never let anyone know his feelings because that was something that you just didn’t do as an Agent.  Your loyalty was to the country and the office.

Then his worst nightmare happened, Senator Isabella M. Swan had declared her candidacy against President Volturi in the next election. Over the years, he had kept up on what she was doing and who she was with. It had surprised him that he had seen very few pictures of her with men and he knew most of them were her security detail.

After Bella won by a landslide, Edward was called to the Office of the Director of Secret Service, Eva Cope.

“Mr. Cullen, I know you are wondering why you are here today?” Ms. Cope asked.

“Yes, ma’am,” he replied.

“I have been watching you over the last few years and I believe you are the best Agent to take over when Miss Swan takes office,” she informed.

“SAIC?” Edward questioned.

Edward couldn’t believe this. He had worked hard and trained hard for this opportunity, though his mind began to doubt himself as to whether he could be that close to her, day in and day out. Even though it had been nearly ten years, his love for her had not faded, nor would it ever.

“Mr. Cullen, is there a problem. Do you not want this assignment and promotion?” Ms. Cope inquired.

Edward knew that the best place for him to protect Bella was to be her Special Agent In Charge and that was what he was going to do. He would lay his life and his heart on the line for her. “I would be honored to accept the position.”

Words to Die By ~ Chapter Thirteen

Chapter Thirteen

July 18, 2017

After Bella left with the gown to the cleaners, Edward finished emptying the chest he was working on, then decided he needed to make some calls. Walking downstairs, he found a chair next to a window that overlooked the lawn in the back of the house. It was overgrown with weeds and vines, though he could see that with some hard work, it would be spectacular. He could see Bella chasing their children on a bright summer day. Wait, children? Where did that come from? He thought, shaking his head. Over the years, he had never thought about having children, as he was too busy trying to find justice for his parents. Then Bella crashed into his life, and she added new dimensions to his future plans, making him want and desire those things that every normal young man would want. God, he couldn’t wait to marry Bella. Then he wondered if it was possible to hire someone that could achieve the vision he had of the back lawn, in time for their reception? It was going to be a small affair, but he could almost see a small white tent in the newly repaired and manicured yard.

Taking out his phone, he sent a lengthy email to J. Jenks. They would need specific documentation to enable them to marry here in Italy, and he needed it delivered to him as soon as possible. A minute later, he had his response from Jenks. Edward discovered through reading his father’s journals, that Jenks was a trusted Consigliere for the family during his father’s rule.  He contacted him as soon as he began forming the new family. He knew he could always count on him to take care of his document needs in such an efficient manner, that they would fool even the most stringent government examination. Hell, technically, he was supposed to be dead, yet he has a birth certificate in his real name, but also a certificate in the name he has used in public. He had been able to stay under Aro’s radar by using Anthony Masen, but very soon, he would finally be able to use Edward Cullen or maybe take his grandfather’s name Cullenello.

After he had confirmed that Jenks would have all the documents ready by tomorrow, he called his pilot and told him to head back to Chicago. Edward needed a few more guards for security and someone exceptionally special,  who had to be here for the wedding, his Mom. Pushing her number on his speed dial, he waited for her to answer the phone.

“Edward, my love,” Angela said, her voice full of worry. “Are you okay?”

“Yes, Mom. Bella was able to take us to the estate. It is so grand and full of wonderful secrets,” Edward gushed. “But I can’t really talk about it on the phone. I need you to pack a bag and be ready to leave tomorrow at noon.”

“Where am I going?” Angela quizzed.

“You are coming here and make sure to pack something fancy,” Edward advised with a smile.

“What for?”

“Oh, I’m getting married and thought you would want to dress up for the occasion,” Edward joked.

“WHAT?” She screamed, tears forming in her eyes.

“I asked Bella to marry me, and she said yes. We are getting married over here, and I want you to be there, Mom,” Edward explained.

“My baby. I am so excited for you. I will get packed immediately, because there is no way I am missing my son’s one and only wedding.”

“Jenks is bringing over some papers that we need in the morning.  I need you to bring with you, as well as additional security staff which  will also be coming over with you,” Edward declared.

“Are you in danger?” Angela cried.

“No, mom, but I would rather err on the side of caution,” Edward shared.

“Alright, just be careful, my love,” Angela urged with a sigh.

“Always am. See you later tomorrow night,” Edward said, then hung up.

After he had everything lined up with his mom, he then did some research on Como Cathedral. There was one piece of information that made him smile. The church was in the red. This was something he could use to his advantage. He would make an appointment with the bishop for tomorrow, and when he was finished, the wedding would be scheduled for this weekend. Glancing back outside, he decided to call his contractor and get a crew here asap to work on the yard. The contractor didn’t refuse or grumble about the tight timeline for the backyard, because he knew that if he pulled off this miracle Mr. Cullenello would reward him handsomely with a bonus.

Edward was just finishing up with the contractor, when he called Bishop Augusto Bertazzoni. After talking to his Administrative Assistant and telling him who he was, he was immediately put through to the Bishop.

“Salve, signor Cullenello. Sono molto sorpreso di ricevere una chiamata da te,” Bishop Bertazzoni stated. Shocked was an understatement. When his assistant had stated that Mr. Cullenello was on the phone, he dropped the glass of water he had in his hand. He had not heard the name Cullenello for nearly thirty-five years. Caius Cullenello had been a very powerful man in Lake Como. He ruled the town and was feared by everyone. Nevertheless, Caius was also very generous to the church, keeping them out of financial ruin, so he knew he had to talk to this Mr. Cullenello.  (Hello, Mr. Cullenello. I am very surprised to be taking a call from you.)

“Buona giornata, vescovo Bertazonni. Grazie per aver ricevuto la mia chiamata,” Edward purred in perfect Italian. (Good Day, Bishop Bertazzoni. Thank you for taking my call.)

“Hai suscitato la mia curiosità. Come stai parente di Caio?”

Bishop Bertazooni asked. (You piqued my curiosity. How are you kin to Caius?)

“Sono suo nipote e spero di poter venire domani e parlarti di qualcosa di importante,” Edward asked as a wicked grin broke out across his face. (“I am his grandson and I hope to be able to come by tomorrow and talk to you about something of importance,”)

Bishop Bertazzoni was stunned. Had Caius left the information concerning him with his grandson? God, he had thought he had finally gotten away from his mistakes when he had heard about Caius’s death, however, it looked like he hadn’t. Whatever this young man wanted, he would make sure he got without any questions asked. “Puoi venire domani mattina verso le 9?”  (Can you come in tomorrow morning at 9?)

“Certamente. Grazie,” Edward said in a dry tone of voice. He had heard something in Bishop Bertazzoni’s voice that told him that he was nervous about something. He would use this to his advantage tomorrow. Disconnecting the call he sat back in the chair and smiled.

“I wonder what the Bishop is hiding,” Edward pondered out loud. As he sat and thought of what it might be, he heard Bella’s voice like the harmony of angels drifting from the front of the house. Standing, he headed towards the sweet sound. As he walked into the room, he saw the bright smile she had upon her face. “Did you have a nice trip?”

Bella’s head turned when she heard Edward’s silky, husky voice and took off towards him wrapping her arms around him burying her face against his warm throat. “I did,” she sighed.

Edward drank in her warmth allowing it to soak into every pore. Pulling her back framing her face with his hands, he looked deeply into her dark pools. “That makes me very happy.”

Bella smiled. “I love you.”

“As I love you,” he stated full of conviction, then lowered his mouth to hers, displaying his love and passion with the kiss. His tongue demanded entrance and as soon as she granted it, his tongue thrust into her hot mouth, stroking and mating with her sweet tongue. The second he heard a tiny moan, the last bit of his resolve disappeared, he had to have her now. Breaking from the kiss he looked around the room and saw both his guards. “Leave, now,” he barked.

Seth and Ben obeyed immediately, but when they turned to leave they both broke out with huge smiles. They knew what was about to go down in the room and they were happy that their boss had finally found someone to love.

As soon as his men turned their backs, Edward and Bella began stripping off each other’s clothes. Their hands couldn’t move fast enough, but finally, they were both naked.

“I need to be inside of you,” Edward growled.

“Yes!” Bella groaned.

Edward scanned the area to find a place to take her, zooming in on the large dining room table. Picking her up by her ass, he walked them over to the table. “I am going to make you scream my name,” he bragged.

Bella licked her lips, as she ran her hands down his hard muscular arms. “Not until you scream mine first.”

Edward sat her down and turned her around. “Put your hands on the table and hold on tight. I can’t be gentle.”

Bella bent over, moving her legs apart, and held on to the edge of the table. She felt his hand as it rubbed over her ass, then moved to the junction of her thighs. When he skimmed his long finger across her slick folds she thought she was going to combust. God, she needed his thick cock filling her up, though he kept teasing her with his long fingers. “Edward, please,” she begged, moving her hips to gain some much-needed friction.

“What do you want, my love?” He smirked.

“I need you inside of me, NOW!” She yelled.

Taking his hardened and thick shaft in his hand, he ran it down between her ass cheeks until he reached her hot, dripping entrance. Rubbing his weeping tip over her folds, caused her to move her pelvis to allow him to penetrate her pussy. There was no way he was going to be able to go slow, he needed to be inside of her. In one powerful thrust, he embedded himself balls deep inside of her tightness. There was nowhere else in this world that he would rather be than here, now, deep inside her.

Bella looked over her shoulder at him with passion-filled eyes and growled. “I thought you were going to make me scream.”

His control broke apart and he began to slam over and over again into her. Her moans drove him to thrust wildly inside her as he held tightly onto her hips. Each thrust caused the table to move until it was now against the wall.

“Scream my name,” Edward groaned.

“I’m so fucking close, don’t you fucking stop. Beat my pussy with your cock,” she hissed.

Damn, he needed to hear her scream. Twirling her around he picked her up and sat her on the edge of the table, pulling her leg up over his shoulder. With wild abandonment, he began to thrust deep in her. Looking up he could tell she was fighting to control her orgasm and he knew that he had her. Reaching between them he rubbed her clit several times before he looked deep into her eyes. “COME NOW!” He demanded as he pinched her clit.

Bella thought she was in control, however as soon as he demanded her to come and pinched her, she exploded in a thousand pieces screaming his name. “EDWARD!”

As soon as Edward felt her orgasm as it clamped down on his cock, his own orgasm began in glorious waves of splendor. When he had finally stopped convulsing, he laid his forehead against hers. “Fuck that was hot.”

The fog of passion finally began to subside. That had to be the hottest sex she had ever had in her life. God, she was so fucking lucky to have Edward as her soon be husband. A life filled with this type of sex was sure to be heaven. Taking her hand she ran it down the side of his face. “That was indescribable.”

Edward smiled. “We will have to christen every room like this.” He carefully moved her leg down and withdrew from her, missing it as soon as he was out.

Bella shuddered over the loss. “I like the way you think.”

Edward picked her up and took her to the bathroom. He rushed out and collected their clothes. After they cleaned up the best they could, they dressed and walked back into the dining room. They both looked at the table and laughed.

“We need to get back to the villa and get ready,” Edward said.

“How do you think everyone will take it?” Bella asked. She thought that Rose and Emmett would be fine with it, but she wondered how Alice was going to react. Bella had had enough of her attitude and she wasn’t going to allow her to ruin this happy occasion.

“They will be happy for us. I called my Mom today and she is beyond excited. Actually, she will be here tomorrow night,” Edward advised.

“We are getting married here and I knew she would be upset if she wasn’t here,” he explained.

“I am excited to see her. Did you find out what we need to get married?”

“I did, Jenks is preparing the documents and Mom is bringing them with her. I have a meeting tomorrow with the Bishop and I feel sure that we will be able to get married in the church.”

“When do you think we will be able?” Bella questioned as she thought about her dress. Aurora said that she would have the dress ready by Friday.

“I was thinking maybe Saturday if you think you can be ready by then?”

Bella smiled. “I am sure I can be and I am sure Rose will be happy to help, along with your Mom.”

Edward couldn’t help but smile when he heard Bella say she wanted his Mom to help. She had just given him another reason to love her. “I feel sure they both would be excited to help.”

They walked hand and hand out of the house, smiling over the fact that they were going to announce to everyone that they were engaged.
